Margie Stone Blanton, age 90, of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday May 8, 2012 at Briarcliff Heath Care Center.
Margie and her husband moved to Oak Ridge in 1944 where she was employed at K-25 from 1945 to 1946. After the death of her husband in 1966 she worked for Proffitt's Department Store, Sterchi's Furniture Store, Helig Myers Furniture Store, Greer's Furniture Store and Big Lots where she worked until June of last year.
Margie is preceded in death by her husband Worth A. Stone, grandson Brian David Wells, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sons Kenneth W. Stone of Oak Ridge and Gary W. Stone and his wife Sandra of Knoxville, daughter Sheryl Wells-Schrader and her husband Wayne of Powell ; three grandchildren Amanda Stone of Oak Ridge, Sheree Whitmill and her husband Doyle of Maynardville, Michael Scott Wells of Victorville, CA ; five great granddaughters Sarai and Hannah Johnson of Maynardville, Kristyn Wells, Ashley Beeler, and Megan Wells of Powell, one great grandson Angelo Wells of Victorville, CA, ; two brothers Albert Dodson of Garner, NC and Bill Dodson of Louisville, KY.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 13, 2012 2:00 to 4:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts be sent to the cancer charity of their choice.
